Practices will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays. When games are scheduled, they will take place on Wednesdays in place of practice. All practices (1.5 hours) and games will begin no earlier than 5:30 PM and end no later than 8:30 PM. Games will last 1 hour. Practice times will be based on each school district's gym availability.

Rochester, NY — The Rochester Youth Volleyball League began in September 2012 with the goal of introducing volleyball to girls in grades 3–6 throughout the Rochester area. In its first season, the league included three area schools and 70 participants. It has since grown to serve over 500 athletes across 15 districts.

The league operates as a "pre-modified" program, with teams organized by school district to provide a local, community-based structure. Participants register through their district's program and practice at a location within that district. The league runs for 8 weeks and includes team practices, home and away games, and a year-end tournament. Each participating district aims to field at least one team for grades 3–4 and one for grades 5–6. Many programs are able to support multiple teams per age group, depending on gym space and registration numbers.

Although teams are separated by school district, this is not a school-sponsored program. The Rochester Youth Volleyball League is operated by VolleyFX Volleyball Club (VFX), the largest girls’ volleyball organization in the Rochester area. VFX is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and a member of USA Volleyball.

August 27th, 2025 6:00 PM at Main Street Armory:

• Coaches Meeting 
  • We will host an on-sight parent volunteer coaches meeting/clinic at 6:00 pm.
  • We would love all parent-coaches to be in attendance to go over information for the year.
    • At-Least 1 coach/school district should be in attendance to pick up balls.
  • A summary document will be sent out after the fact with a guide to what was covered in the meeting.
  • CPR Training for at least one coach

September 8, 2025:

• First practice for most districts.

September 11, 2025: 

• Last day to register for the RYVL season

October 13th, 2025: 

• No Practice - VolleyFX will host a RYVL/SYVL Clinic (registration link will be provided)

November 1 & 2, 2025:

• Year-End Tournament at Main Street Armory
• Teams from both Rochester Youth Volleyball League and Syracuse Youth Volleyball League will compete.

  • Nov 2 - Emerald & Ruby
